FLOOD PRONE AREAS WITHIN THE SOUTH NATION RIVER WATERSHED

Within the South Nation River watershed exist some low areas which are susceptible to flooding. Click here for a map of the following flood prone areas:

BRINSTON Oak Valley (North and South Dundas)
PLANTAGENENT (Nation & Alfred -Plantagenet)
FOURNIER AREA (Nation)
BEAR BROOK (Cumberland & Clarence- Rockland)
SOUTH CASTOR near Vernon (Osgoode)

Flooding problems in the SNR watershed normally occur during the spring runoff from a combination of snowmelt and rainfall. However, flooding can also occur any time of the year with the onset of excessive rainfall or snowmelt.
